Woodland Reading Program
This is our fifth year of the collaborative reading program with Woodland Elementary School. This fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity involves going to the school once a week (Tue, Wed, Thurs) for approximately an hour and sitting with an individual 1st grade student and listening as they read. Volunteers will be assigned to a 1st grade teacher. The coordinator will contact volunteers via e-mail prior to the program start date of October 4th. Flu Shot Clinic
Jewel/Osco will be providing flu, high dose flu, COVID-19, pneumonia, shingles and Tdap (tetanus/diphtheria/whooping cough) vaccines at the Senior Center. Insurance and Medicare will be billed directly. It is highly recommended that all individuals make an appointment with Osco online. Please call the Senior Center at 847-244-1101, ext. *501 to get the link for appointments. Please bring your immunization interest form, insurance card, drug plan card and Medicare card.

American Classic Tours Meet-n-Greet
American Classic Tours will be at the Senior Center on Friday, October 7th, at 1:00pm to present “Mississippi River Cruise/Celebration Bell Motor coach Tour,” July 12th-14th, 2023, and the “Southwest National Parks Air/Motor coach Tour,” September 28-October 6, 2023. Join us to learn more about the exciting 2023 trips we have planned for our Senior Center members. We will start taking reservations/bookings at the meeting for both 2023 trips. Trick-or-Chocolate Halloween Adventure
This tour gives you the spooky Halloween feel with ghost stories throughout many of Milwaukee’s most popular neighborhoods, along with history behind some really unique traditions. They will cover the lighthearted side of Halloween too. Along the way we will stop for a guided tour of Milwaukee elites at the Forest Home Cemetery, lunch at one of Milwaukee's historic restaurants and two stops for Halloween-themed sweet treats. Halloween attire encouraged, but not required. Cost includes: Tour, Lunch, Guide, Gratuity. Bus driver gratuity will be collected on our way back to the Senior Center. Lunch selections: (include coffee, iced tea, soda, & a jumbo cookie) 1) Classic Burger & Fries 2) Grilled Caprese Sandwich & Fries 3) BLT Avocado Sandwich & Fries 4) Caesar Salad.

Halloween Murder Mystery Party
"The Case of the Spooky Seance"
The list of believers in Madame Gaze’s psychic abilities span the globe and reads like a who’s who: Lady Sadie, British socialite; Jackie O’Collins, gossip writer; Dr. Ruth Zechscheimmer, relationship therapist and Sheik Sneak-a-Peek, oil tycoon. Now Madame Gaze is dead and her diary seems to be missing, what an unpredictable turn of events! Dress in your favorite Halloween costume if you'd like and be ready to help solve the crime through the Improv Playhouse fun-filled, interactive, “whodunit,” at the Senior Center. Enjoy fried chicken, cheesy au gratin potatoes, Francais veggie blend, garden salad, rolls & butter and dessert.

Presentation: Nellie Bly: Daredevil Reporter
Back by popular demand, Lynn Rymarz will perform, “Nellie Bly.” For Nellie Bly newspaper reporter, nothing was too daring or too impossible to scoop a story for a headline. Hear about her life lessons and some of her stories such as how she got herself committed to an insane asylum, was arrested, danced as a chorus girl, rode an elephant and raced around the world in record-breaking time. Light refreshments will be served.

Veterans Day Celebration Brunch
Join us for a Veterans Day Brunch to honor our Senior Center members who served our country and thank them for ensuring the freedoms we enjoy every day! We are also creating an honor board. If you would like to share a photo of yourself in your service uniform and display it at the Senior Center, please drop it off at the front desk. Brunch will be free to all Warren Township Senior Center member veterans. We will be serving French toast casserole, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, Bauer’s home fried potatoes, Danish, orange juice and coffee. Open only to our Senior Center members; sorry we are not able to accommodate non-member guests.

Presentation: Wills & Estate Planning
Attorney John Haderlein, ESQ will be at the senior center to give a presentation on “Estate Planning,” Monday, November 14th. A written estate plan helps your loved ones take care of you and your financial affairs if you become disabled or pass-away. The need to have things in writing seem more acute now than ever before. Snacks will be provided.

Dave & Taro will perform music from the 50’, 60’s, and 70’s songs you will recognize and love but play them in a charismatic way like you have never heard. They will have you and your Senior Center friends singing along throughout their performance. Your lunch includes: Roast turkey, baked ham with sliced pineapple and honey brown sugar, whipped potatoes, green bean almandine and garlic butter, sweet potatoes in brown sugar and butter, roast turkey stuffing, garden salad, dinner rolls and dessert catered by Bauer Catering.

Christkindlemarket, Aurora's RiverEdge Park
The Christkindlemarket's third location is at the RiverEdge Park in Aurora, Illinois. This market boasts the same traditional candy-cane striped booths and vendors that offer handcrafted and holiday themed wares for sale both new and similar to what can be found in Chicago. Hand-blown glass ornaments, traditional German holiday décor, beer steins and sweet and savory treats including Gluhwein, sausages, potato pancakes, strudel and many other traditional German and Austrian food and beverage specialties. Remember to stop at Bob’s Belgian Hot Chocolate for a cup of his amazing hot chocolate to warm you up while shopping at the outdoor market. Join us for a day that will surely put you in the holiday spirit. Dress warm!!!

2023 Brunch Celebration
Ring in the New Year & Celebrate Elvis' 88th Birthday
As the New Year begins and 2022 ends, let’s ring in the New Year and celebrate Elvis Presley’s 88th birthday. Join us for our second annual New Years brunch with a twist. John Van Thiel will be back at the Senior Center to celebrate and bring the King to life with his remarkable Elvis voice. John has mastered the Elvis sound so well that it just might give you goose bumps. For brunch we will be serving scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, American fries, French toast with syrup, butter, Maravelas special spread, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and orange juice.
