General Assistance/Emergency Assistance

General Assistance and Emergency Assistance applications are processed in accordance with the standards approved by the Department of Public Aid and guidelines approved by the Township Board. This program is designed to alleviate emergency circumstances.

  • Must reside in Warren Township for at least 6 months.
  • Must exhibit and document financial hardship.
  • Must be able to show ongoing ability to pay after assistance is granted.

Applications are available in the Supervisor's Office Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Energy Assistance

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps eligible low-income households pay for home energy services (primarily heating during winter months). Illinois residents with a household income that does not exceed an amount determined annually by the Department of Commerce are eligible. Annual eligibility levels are determined based on available funding and may not exceed 200% of the federal poverty level.
